What
is DSL?

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is the name of a set of new phone services that offer very high bandwidth, over standard copper phone wire, at a small fraction of the cost of comparable "leased lines". In simple terms, DSL is much like getting a T1 on a regular phone line!

DSL comes in a number of flavors. Panix Business Express is SDSL (Symmetrical DSL), the most versatile member of the DSL service family. SDSL features equal upload/download speeds from 192 Kbps (just above ISDN) to 1.5 Mbps (T1 speeds) with a large coverage area, for a wide variety of applications.

The performance of SDSL is especially impressive in networks that include server traffic.
